Gm Cross breed Vehicle Going through Testing By Cleveland Territorial Travel Authority




 In its GM news bulletin of 10 February 2006, the company announced the testing of a general-purpose vehicle, which would be used as a fast-tracked vehicle called Silver Line, for a hybrid vehicle






. According to a recent GM press release, the Grand Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is currently undergoing testing. The GM hybrid vehicle concept is similar to the 21 vehicles planned for purchase by the Regional Transit Authority by the end of 2007. Recent GM news bulletins indicate that Cleveland decided to purchase GM hybrid vehicles because they were more fuel-efficient than traditional bus transport and cleaner at the same time.







The silver line is only one aspect of the forthcoming project of the Grand Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, which aims to improve transit services through the use of more environmentally friendly vehicles, reduced traffic congestion, improved pedestrian safety and support for further improvements along urban corridors. The project aims to reduce the travel time of passengers and to make it easier for them to attend school, work, homes, medical facilities and urban recreational activities. A recent public information bulletin issued by the GM indicates that the silver line is planned to be fully operational in 2008.
